We Love Ouray!

What a TRIP! Get ready for lots of pictures! (none of which do this place justice)
Morgan, Emery and I, along with Matt (my brother who works with Morgan), Courtney (his wifey,) and their baby Makenzie all got to go on a "business trip" to Ouray Colorado. Its a tiny little tourist town just north of Dorango. Morgan and Matt put up a big solar system for a family friend of ours who is building a cabin up there in some of the most beautiful country I've ever seen.

***Our pictures are good but if you wanna see what this place is really like then google "Ouray Colorado" and you'll get a better idea of where we were. ;)

We were there from the 17th of May till Friday the 22nd...(not long enough) The boys worked all day the first three days while us girls walked up and down Main St and window shopped...We went to the little grocery store, sat in the little coffee shop and drank our diet Pepsis, took some pictures, and enjoyed the scenery...We stayed in a little two bedroom, two bath condo with a full kitchen so we were able to cook our meals which made us feel right at home!

The weather was glorious...it never got over 70ish degrees and rained every afternoon...Our condo had a RAGING river flowing right behind it so we slept with the windows open so we could hear it all night long...(sigh....) It was so nice....

So here's some pics!

SOLAR!!! YAY!!!!

The ONLY grocery store in Ouray and it closes at 6pm...we found that out the hard way :)

I thought this was hilarious...

Courtney and Kenzie in our corner coffe shop

My cool red bench in front of an even cooler teal shop...

There's a waterfall coming out of my head!

Lots of raging rivers!

On the day the boys didn't have to work, we went up to the cabin with them and explored!

Ouray, back in its hay-day, was a big mining town. This is an OLD bunk house where all the miners lived...I'd say its in pretty dang good condition considering its age and the harsh weather its endured....

Make this picture big and take a look at the date....

This is called Box Canyon Falls

Thats a loooong way down and yes, of course i'm wearing a skirt on a walk way that you can see right up through...good thing I was wearing my G's that day... ;)

I love this picture...holding on to dads hand so tight!

Let There Be GRASS!

And it was good.

More Emery....

One of Emerys new favorite things is to sit in front of our screen door on a cool day and watch the cars go by...
On this particular day she also got to watch her daddy weed-eat the yard :)

(can you see him?? )

The Car Seat

Emery has to mentally prepare for her rides in the car seat...

Look at that concentration

She held on like this the entire ride home from Grandma and Grandpas house tonight...

Easter 2009

We went over to Grandma and Grandpa Pews house for Easter dinner and could not resist taking some pictures of this cute little girl out on the green grass on such a BEAUTIFUL day! I wish it could be that nice all the time...

Look at that cute little family....

Cousin Ayson pants and Emery

Daddy!!! And wow does Emery have eyes for her dad! I could be holding her across the room from Morgan and as soon as she sees him she gets the HUGEST smile and starts kicking her little legs! She LOVES her dad...but then again, who wouldn't right??

Butterfly Exhibit!!

This Good Friday all the grandkids on the Porter side (along with their mommys and Grandma) got to go to the Botanical Gardens to see the Butterfly Exhibit. If you've never been I would definitely recommend going. Every year about this time they have this big tent full of hundreds of butterflies flying around for everyone to see. I guess they ship the little guys in from somewhere back East to live out the rest of their lives here in AZ...Needless to say, the kids LOVED it. I think pretty much every one of our kids had a butterfly land on them....yes, even Miss Emery
